From the bellhop losing my makeup kit to being unable to get up to the room to start servicing my bridal party, and on top of all that, my car started acting strange.

But in the end, I’m glad I managed to do 5 beautiful makeovers for a lovely wedding. The truth is, life happens! And it’s important for me to be able to perform under any circumstance. I think I did a good job. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

When choosing inspiration pictures, it’s important to consider not only great makeup but also a model who shares some of the same features as you. This is because not every makeup look is suitable for everyone. At Lavish, we want you to leave feeling like your best self. Here are some tips to follow the next time you have to choose an inspo picture:

1. Know what you want. It’s easy to find good makeup in a photo, but do you know how you really want to look and feel? Do your research.

2. Look for models that share some of the same features as you do. This step is very important and can change the outcome of your final glam.

3. Look into what finishes you like ( meaning skin) - dewy or mattee?

4. Watch out for over-edited photos. We live in a world of perfection, however, makeup can only do so much. Don’t get caught up on perfection.
